These are some of Angelina Jolie's current realities. She might never have been this happy before. "I'd like to think that people change constantly and that, if they do a good evolution, they keep growing", says the actress. She's 28 and has undoubtedly undergone an evolution in physical terms in her real life as much as on the screen, in Tomb Raider: the cradle of life*, the second movie of the action saga based on the videogame heroine.

Divorce and self-development
Many believe that Jolie's marriage with Billy Bob Thornton suffered irreversible damage when they adopted Maddox, since Thornton had already been married a few times and had children of his own. (Jolie, on the other hand, had only coupled with the English actor Jonny Lee Miller.) However, Jolie explains that many things lead to the separation. "There were several causes", she says. "It wasn't just a child, it was everything. After two years of marriage we were two very different people, and so were our priorities.

"We became very, very different people. And I think that happens to a lot of people - otherwise they don't grow. I'm happy we did. When you're in a relationship, you have to keep growing. Sometimes you make the effort to grow together and share that with your couple, and it's wonderful when that happens. But if it doesn't, you have to keep growing anyway." "We used to be great friends", she says. "We used to be sort of the perfect couple at school. We were promising, young, fun, eager and somewhat dumb. We got along really well. That's important for people who have no friends and are very lonely, but it's not enough to build up a life."
