This new scientific slap is addressed to all those restless minds, which in a panorama of project poverty, try to observe the world critically. A clear and deactivating message to those who pretend to ask about the essence of religions and creeds: forget about culture, let’s abandon complexity… the answer is simpler and it is at hand… it’s us!
Based on a series of experiments carried out during the last couple of years and from a deeply dualist conception of man, a caravan of “erudite people” assures that the religious feeling is the unwavering consequence of a brain programmed for the creation of divinities. Although other components which would help to reinforce the central hypothesis are mentioned, its assembling is whimsical and carries an overwhelming simplification.
The conclusions of these studies were published in countless means of communication around the world, and the lack of critique and the fervent acceptance seen in all the cases is shameful. Likewise, a mafia alliance like this one evidences the alarming human predisposition to commune with every theory that dilutes its responsibility in the world.
These “discoveries” and each one of their statements not only give testimony of a rude reductionism when analyzing and understanding the dynamics our times face, but also the imposition of an individual explanation that pleases with thinking there’s no need to worry over reasoning about the self spirituality, and even less about asking and demanding oneself a greater strength and solidity when facing insecurity moments. According to these studies, the innate is irreversible and any vibe of change can only be homologated with obsolescence and defeat. The pessimism of a prefigured mind that has to accept a life of invented divinities, unavoidable directors of any course of action and shelter before any tension with life appears as the principal calming balsam for an absent will.
Inside this hard blow to the constructive sensitivity, a set of fallacies and simplifications pretends to make us believe that the human faculty of imagining the supernatural may be equal to the process the religious feeling entails, as if it only be innocently based on unreality. Focusing only on the figurative capacities of the individuals, such a cultural issue as the training of a type of creed that always presupposes indoctrination and service can never be explained. Instead of thinking of an innate tendency to those dogmas, it should be worth exploring which complex dynamics limit people to find solutions, faults and commitments in an external entity. But it is clear, to avoid a deep reconsideration, it is always easier (and apparently more seductive) to shelter in any determinism, even more if it comes from such a legitimated field like sciences. It seems that history is going through the most mystic moment of all the times, not because the boom of the traditional doctrines but due to the tendency towards an ascription lacking of skepticisms and questionings of all speech that calms an existence without yearnings of self-sufficiency.
This absurd conception of the own spirituality, irrevocably linked to religious matters, plus a satisfying disposition to take without the minimum suspicion any statement that declares itself as scientific, shows the inertia and the domestication of the current scenario.
Perhaps, it could be worth asking if in the dispersion of the cosmos it is even possible to elucidate the shine of a more nutritive search. One even could imagine intrepid souls, which to the perception of the common men can appear as if they were from another planet, moving by the ether, willing to demonstrate that the construction of a consistent autonomy is a totally feasible and enjoyable aspiration. Utopian in an environment of press ravages and macabre disciplines, a bet on solidity could shed some light on an improving relation with the world.
